Setting Up the ReliaRing App on Android

Updated July 22, 20264 views0 found helpful

Install the ReliaRing app on your Android phone or tablet, sign in, and grant the permissions it needs so your business calls ring reliably.

This guide walks you through installing and setting up the ReliaRing app on an Android phone or tablet so you can make and receive business calls from your device.

What you need

  • An Android device running Android 8 or later.
  • Your ReliaRing sign-in (the email and password you use for the portal).
  • A Wi-Fi or mobile data connection.

Step 1: Install the app

  1. Open the Google Play Store on your device.
  2. Search for ReliaRing.
  3. Tap Install.

(You can also open the Apps page on reliaring.com from your phone and tap the download link, which sends you to Google Play.)

Step 2: Sign in

  1. Open the ReliaRing app.
  2. Enter your email and password and tap sign in.
  3. If your account uses single sign-on (SSO) or two-step verification, complete that prompt as usual.

Step 3: Allow permissions

When prompted, tap Allow for each of these:

  • Microphone — so callers can hear you.
  • Notifications — so incoming calls and messages alert you even when the app isn't open. This is the key one for never missing a call.
  • Contacts (optional) — to dial from your address book.

You can review or change these later in your device's Settings → Apps → ReliaRing → Permissions.

Step 4: Keep calls ringing in the background

Some Android phones aggressively "sleep" apps to save battery, which can stop calls from ringing. To avoid missing calls:

  1. In your device Settings → Apps → ReliaRing, allow background activity / unrestricted battery use.
  2. Turn off any battery optimization or "sleeping apps" restriction for ReliaRing.

There's more detail in Battery Settings So the App Keeps Ringing.

Step 5: Make a test call

Call your own mobile or a colleague and confirm the other person hears you clearly and that your business number appears as the caller ID.

Troubleshooting first-run issues

  • Calls don't ring when the app is in the background? Allow background activity and disable battery optimization for ReliaRing (Step 4), and confirm Notifications are on. See Push Notifications for Mobile Calls and Messages.
  • Callers can't hear you? Confirm Microphone permission is allowed.
  • Can't sign in? Verify your credentials by signing in to the web portal.

Keep the app updated from Google Play for the latest call-reliability fixes.
