Standard SIP protocol. If your PBX speaks SIP, it works with ReliaRing.

What every trunk carries.

The same feature set on the pay-as-you-go plan and the committed one. Nothing here is an upgrade you buy later.

Instant provisioning
SIP credentials delivered in minutes, not days. Configure your PBX and start routing calls immediately.
US and Canada coverage
Local and toll-free numbers across Canada and the US, plus international termination, with CNAM and E911.
SRTP and TLS encryption
End-to-end encrypted signalling and media. TLS 1.2+ for SIP, SRTP for voice. IP whitelisting available.
STIR/SHAKEN attestation
Full attestation caller ID verification. Your calls show as verified, improving answer rates and reducing spam flags.
Real-time analytics
Call detail records, MOS quality scores, jitter and latency metrics, and usage dashboards — all in real time.
Geo-redundant infrastructure
Two independent regions (Canada Central and East) with automatic failover. Primary and secondary SIP endpoints for your PBX.

Two regions. Automatic failover.

Canada Central and Canada East run independently. Point your PBX at a primary and a secondary SIP endpoint, and a region can fail without your calls stopping.

Rates

Metered, or a flat rate per channel.

Pay-as-you-go suits low or variable volume. Committed channels suit a busy queue and a budget you have to forecast. No contract either way.

Questions people ask first.

What is SIP trunking?

SIP trunking is a service that connects your existing phone system (PBX) to the public telephone network (PSTN) over the internet. Instead of using traditional phone lines, calls are made and received over your internet connection using the SIP protocol.

What equipment do I need?

You need an IP-enabled PBX (like FreeSWITCH, Asterisk, 3CX, Cisco, or Microsoft Teams) and a reliable internet connection. We provide the SIP credentials and technical documentation for configuration.

What is the difference between pay-as-you-go and committed channels?

Metered is prepaid: a small monthly trunk connection fee plus per-minute usage, suited to low or variable volumes. Channel plans charge a flat monthly price per concurrent channel, which makes the line item predictable when you run a lot of simultaneous calls. Outbound minutes are billed against your rate deck on both.

How many channels do I need?

A channel represents one concurrent call. If you expect 10 simultaneous calls at peak times, you need 10 channels. Most businesses need 1 channel per 4–5 phone users. We can help you estimate based on your call patterns.

Do you support Microsoft Teams Direct Routing?

Yes. We offer Microsoft Teams Direct Routing as a dedicated service. Visit our Teams Calling page for specific pricing and setup information.

Do you support Cisco WebEx Calling?

Yes. We support WebEx Calling BYOC (Bring Your Own Carrier). You can connect your existing WebEx Calling deployment to our SIP trunks. Visit our WebEx Calling page for details.

What codecs do you support?

We support G.711 (u-law and a-law) and G.729. We recommend G.711 for best quality or G.729 where bandwidth is tight.

Do you offer failover and redundancy?

Yes. We run geo-redundant infrastructure across two Canadian regions (Central and East) with automatic failover. You can configure primary and secondary SIP endpoints for maximum reliability.

Is E911 included?

Yes. One E911 location is included with every Trunk Connection at no extra cost. Additional E911 locations are $2.95 CAD / $2.25 USD per month each — and multiple DIDs can share the same location. Every location gets E911 service that meets Canadian (CRTC) and US (FCC) emergency-calling requirements.

Can I port my existing numbers?

Yes. You can port your existing phone numbers to our SIP trunks. Porting typically takes 5–10 business days depending on your current carrier.
