Some phone lines only matter when there is an emergency — and that is exactly when you cannot afford for them to be dead. ReliaVerify quietly checks those lines for you by placing scheduled test calls, recording whether each one is answered, and alerting you the moment a line fails. Instead of finding out a line is broken during a crisis, you find out during a routine test.
Who needs line monitoring
ReliaVerify is built for the lines that have to work but rarely get used:
- Elevator emergency phones — often required to be tested regularly by code.
- Fire and alarm lines — panels that dial out to a monitoring center.
- Emergency call boxes — in parking lots, campuses, and stairwells.
- Safety and help lines — pool phones, area-of-refuge phones, courtesy phones.
- Fax and backup lines — numbers you rely on but rarely dial yourself.
If you manage a building, a campus, or a facility with lines like these, ReliaVerify gives you proof they are working — and a fast warning when they are not.
How it works
- You choose a number to monitor — it can be any phone number, not just a ReliaRing number.
- You set a schedule — hourly, every few hours, daily, or weekly.
- We place a real test call on that schedule and check whether it behaves the way you expect (for example, that it is answered).
- Each check is recorded as a pass or fail, with full call details.
- We alert your team by email when a check fails, so you can act before it matters.
What you get
- A dashboard showing active monitors, monitored numbers, recent success rate, and any failing lines.
- A complete history of every test, with pass/fail results and call details you can export.
- Email alerts to whoever needs to know, on failures (and optionally on passes).
- Flexible plans so you can monitor as often as you need.
Getting started
Open Line Verification in the portal. If you have a subscription but have not set anything up yet, a short setup wizard walks you through choosing a number and a schedule. See Setting up a line monitor for the step-by-step.
ReliaVerify tests whether a line answers — it does not place emergency calls on your behalf. A ReliaVerify monitor cannot dial 911. It is a monitoring tool, not a phone line.
Where to go next
- Setting up a line monitor — create your first monitor.
- Reading your test history and results — understand what each result means.
- Getting alerts when a line fails — set up who hears about problems.
- ReliaVerify plans and scheduling frequency — choose how often to test.
