Understanding Fax Billing

Updated July 22, 20264 views0 found helpful

ReliaFax is billed per page. Learn what counts as a page, how included pages and overage work, and where to check your usage.

ReliaFax is billed per page. Each fax line has a monthly plan that includes a set number of pages, and pages beyond that are charged at a small per-page overage rate. This guide explains what counts, how the allowance works, and where to track it.

What counts as a page

A "page" is one standard fax page — about the size of a letter or A4 sheet. A few things to keep in mind:

  • Every page transmits. A five-page document counts as five pages.
  • Received faxes count too. Both faxes you send and faxes you receive draw from your allowance.
  • Cover pages count. If you add a cover page, it is one more page.
  • Long documents use more. A document that spills onto extra pages counts each one.

Included pages and overage

Each ReliaFax plan comes with a monthly pool of included pages. As you send and receive, those pages are used up. If you go past your included pages, additional pages are billed at your plan's overage rate per page. On the unlimited plan there is no overage — all pages are included.

You can watch your usage right on the fax screen. The subscription status bar at the top of Fax → Inbox shows how many pages you have used out of your included total, and flags any overage.

Where to see rates

Plan prices and per-page overage rates can change, so we do not list exact amounts here. To see current pricing:

  • Check Billing → Rate Lookup in the portal, or
  • Review your plan options when you add or change a fax line, or
  • Look at your Billing → Invoices to see what you were charged.

Managing your plan

If you regularly run past your included pages, moving up to a higher plan usually costs less than paying overage. You can change a fax line's plan from your subscriptions screen (Manage on the subscription bar, or Billing → Subscriptions). See ReliaFax plans to compare tiers.

A note on cancellations

If you cancel a fax line, the change takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle, and setup and monthly fees already billed are not refunded. Your faxes remain available in your account.
