If your team already uses Cisco Webex Calling, ReliaRing can be the phone network behind it. Webex stays the app your people dial from; ReliaRing carries the call to and from the outside world.
This arrangement is called bring your own carrier, or BYOC. You keep your Webex licences and your Webex experience, and you choose who provides the phone service.
What you get
- Two Canadian connection points for your Webex organization — one in Canada Central, one in Canada East
- A connection port reserved for your organization alone
- Canadian and US phone numbers, new or transferred from your current provider
- Emergency (911) service with a registered address for every number
- Call history for the whole trunk in your ReliaRing portal
What you need before you start
- A Cisco Webex Calling organization, with Webex Calling licences on the people who need to make and receive outside calls. A phone number listed in someone's Webex profile is not the same thing as a calling licence.
- Control Hub administrator access — specifically a Full Administrator, since you will be creating call routing and granting ReliaRing access.
- A calling location in Control Hub. Webex will not let you add a trunk without one.
- A trunk already created in Control Hub. ReliaRing's setup asks for that trunk's Trunk Group ID and Location ID before it will continue, so create the Control Hub trunk first.
- Your ReliaRing business details — company name and billing address. Setup cannot be completed without them.
What this does not do
- It does not replace Webex. If you want a phone system from ReliaRing instead of Webex, that is a different product.
- It does not configure Cisco for you end to end. ReliaRing can attempt some of the Control Hub setup on your behalf, but you remain responsible for the trunk, route group and dial plan, and ReliaRing confirms them rather than assuming them.
- It does not remove or change anything in your Control Hub. ReliaRing only ever adds, and only when you have asked it to.
- It does not give a phone number to a Webex user automatically. Adding a user and assigning a number are two separate steps.
