Tracking Usage and Setting Up Alerts

Updated July 22, 20261 views0 found helpful

Use the Usage page to watch minutes, texts, and storage in real time, catch overage warnings early, and avoid surprise charges.

The Usage page shows how much of your plan you've used this billing period, so there are no surprises when the invoice arrives. This guide explains how to read it and stay ahead of overages.

Open the Usage page

Go to Billing → Usage. At the top you'll see your current billing period and how many days remain in it.

Usage gauges

Each resource has a circular gauge showing the percentage used, plus used, total, and remaining figures:

  • Domestic minutes — calling within your country included in your plan.
  • International minutes — included international minutes, if your plan has them.
  • Text messages (SMS) — included texts.
  • Storage — space used by call recordings and files.

Overage warnings

The gauges change colour and warn you as you approach a limit:

  • 80% used — a heads-up that you're getting close.
  • 90% used — nearing your limit; consider upgrading.
  • 100% used — limit reached; extra usage becomes an overage charge.

If you go over, an Overage Charges breakdown shows exactly what pushed you past the limit, and the total is added to your next invoice.

Low-balance alerts

Separately from plan limits, your prepaid wallet has a low-balance alert. When your balance falls below your chosen level, Billing → Overview shows a warning so you can add funds. Turn on auto-recharge to handle this automatically — see Adding Funds to Your Prepaid Wallet.

Tips to manage usage

  • Archive old recordings and voicemails to free up storage.
  • If you consistently pass 80% each month, upgrading your plan is usually cheaper than paying overages.
  • Use text messaging instead of international calls where it makes sense.
