An invoice is an itemized statement of what you owe for a billing period. This guide explains each part so you can read yours with confidence.
Opening an invoice
- Go to Billing → Invoices (or scroll to Recent Invoices on Billing → Overview).
- Select an invoice to open its full detail page.
- Use the PDF button any time to download a copy for your records.
The invoice header
At the top you'll see:
- Invoice number and status (see the status list below).
- Invoice date — when the invoice was issued.
- Due date — when payment is expected.
- Period — the date range the charges cover.
- Total amount, and if part of it is still owed, the amount remaining.
Line items
The Line Items table lists everything you're being charged for. Each row shows:
- Description — what the charge is for (and the service period, if it applies).
- Category — the type of charge, such as a subscription, usage, or a one-time fee.
- Quantity and unit price — how many, and the price of each.
- Amount — the line total.
Totals
Below the line items:
- Subtotal — the sum of all line items before tax.
- Tax — any applicable sales tax, broken out by type.
- Total — subtotal plus tax.
- Paid — any amount already paid toward this invoice.
- Amount due — what's still owed.
