Prepaid Credits and Pay-As-You-Go Billing

Updated July 22, 20261 views0 found helpful

How the prepaid wallet works alongside your subscriptions — what draws from your balance, reserved amounts, and why credits never expire.

ReliaRing uses a prepaid wallet for pay-as-you-go charges. You add money in advance, and usage is deducted as it happens. This guide explains what the wallet is and what draws from it.

Your wallet works alongside your subscriptions — subscriptions cover recurring items, and the wallet covers usage.

What the wallet is

Your prepaid balance is a pool of credit you top up ahead of time. You can see it front and centre on Billing → Overview and on Billing → Wallet.

Credits you add never expire, so there's no pressure to use them by a certain date.

What draws from your wallet

  • Per-minute calling to destinations that aren't included in your plan (for example, many international destinations).
  • Text messages beyond what your plan includes.
  • Other pay-as-you-go usage as it happens.

Domestic US and Canada calling generally uses your plan's included minutes rather than your wallet. To check how a specific destination is charged, use Billing → Rate Lookup (see Looking Up Calling Rates).

Balance, reserved, and effective balance

While a call is in progress, a small amount may be reserved to cover it. That's why you might see a "reserved for active calls" note on your balance — it's held briefly and settles when the call ends.

Low balance

If your balance drops below your low-balance level, the portal shows a Low balance warning and prompts you to add funds. To avoid interruptions, turn on auto-recharge so top-ups happen automatically — see Adding Funds to Your Prepaid Wallet.

Keeping service running

If your wallet empties, pay-as-you-go usage (like out-of-plan calling) can be paused until you add funds. Your subscriptions bill separately and aren't affected by your wallet balance.
