What Is ReliaAnnounce?

Updated July 22, 20264 views0 found helpful

ReliaAnnounce sends one message to a whole list of people at once by voice, text, and email — for closures, outages, and staff alerts.

ReliaAnnounce is a mass-notification tool. It sends the same message to a whole list of people at once — by voice call, text message, and email — so you can reach everyone in minutes instead of dialing one number at a time.

What people use it for

  • Schools and childcare — snow days, closures, early dismissals, event reminders.
  • Utilities and municipalities — outage alerts, water advisories, service interruptions.
  • Businesses and teams — staff call-outs, shift coverage, safety alerts, appointment reminders.
  • Communities and clubs — meeting reminders, weather warnings, general updates.

If you regularly need to tell a group of people something quickly, ReliaAnnounce is built for it.

Three ways to reach people

Every notification can go out on one or more channels at the same time:

  • Voice — an automated phone call that reads your message aloud.
  • SMS — a text message.
  • Email — a branded email.

You pick the channels; each contact receives it on whichever methods they have provided.

How it fits together

  1. Contacts — the people you want to reach, and how (phone, mobile, email).
  2. Groups — lists of contacts, like "All Parents" or "Night Shift."
  3. Coded messages (optional) — pre-written messages you can reuse.
  4. Send — choose a group, write or pick a message, choose channels, and send now, schedule, or save a draft.
  5. Reports — see who received it and who acknowledged it.

Plans and credits

ReliaAnnounce is credit-based: each message you send uses credits, and every plan includes a monthly credit allowance and a contact limit. Plans step up from Starter to Team, Business, Pro, and a custom Enterprise tier. See current allowances and pricing on the plan cards in Announcements → Overview.

An account admin turns ReliaAnnounce on by choosing a plan. If you do not see the option to enroll, ask an admin on your account.

Your sending number is included

To send voice and text notifications you need a sending number, and your first one is included. A single toll-free number covers both the US and Canada. See Announcements → Sending Numbers and the sending-numbers article.

Built-in compliance

Reaching a lot of people comes with rules. ReliaAnnounce helps you stay on the right side of them: it tracks consent, honors opt-outs automatically, and can require recipients to acknowledge important messages. Emergency alerts are treated differently from marketing — see the article on message purposes.
