ReliaRing supports transferring numbers from 27 countries. Canadian and US numbers are the fast path; the rest work differently and it is worth knowing how before you start.
Where we can transfer from
North America — Canada, United States, Mexico
Europe — United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Poland, Czech Republic
Asia-Pacific — Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong
Rest of world — Brazil, Israel, South Africa
If your country is not listed, we cannot transfer the number today. You can still route calls to it — talk to us about the options.
Why international transfers take longer
Canadian and US transfers are submitted electronically to our carrier network and typically complete in 5–7 business days (Canada) or 3–5 (US).
Everywhere else, transfers are prepared and submitted by our team rather than sent automatically, because the carriers in those markets do not offer an electronic route. Expect:
- 5–14 business days for most of Western Europe, Australia and New Zealand
- 14–21 business days for Japan, Italy, Mexico, Israel and South Africa
- 21–30 business days for Brazil
These are the carrier's typical ranges, not commitments. A transfer depends on your current provider releasing the number.
What that means for status updates
Because a person prepares and tracks the order, status updates arrive in steps as the transfer progresses rather than continuously. Your transfer page and its history always show the latest position, and you are emailed when it completes, fails, or needs something from you.
If a transfer looks static for a few days, that is normal for an international order. Contact support any time you want a position check.
Extra documents
Several countries need more than a Letter of Authorization and a recent bill. Depending on the country you may be asked for:
- Government-issued photo ID for the account holder
- Business registration or licence documents
- A tax identification number (VAT number in the EU, for example)
- Proof of address
- A notarised authorisation

One country per transfer
A single transfer covers numbers from one country with one current provider. Numbers from two countries need two transfers — see Transferring Several Numbers at Once.
Fees
International transfers cost more than Canadian and US ones, ranging from $40 to $75 CAD per number depending on the country. The exact amount for your numbers is shown before you pay — see Number Transfer Fees and How You Pay Them.
