You can stop a transfer at any point before it completes.
Deleting a draft
If you never submitted the transfer, it is a draft and there is nothing to cancel — nothing was sent anywhere. Go to Phone Numbers → Porting → Drafts and select Delete on the card, or the bin icon in its corner. Deleting a draft is immediate and removes the numbers, the details and any documents attached to it.
Drafts are kept until you submit or delete them. Nothing expires on its own, so there is no rush.
If you try to delete a transfer you already submitted you will see "Only DRAFT requests can be deleted. Cancel submitted requests instead." — use the cancel option below.
Cancelling a submitted transfer
Open the transfer at Phone Numbers → Porting → Transfer Requests and select Cancel this transfer. You are asked to confirm, because it cannot be undone.
Cancelling does two things: it marks the transfer cancelled on your account, and it cancels the order with the carrier so your current provider stops working it.
What happens to your number
Nothing. Your number stays exactly where it is, with your current provider, working normally. A cancelled transfer never leaves a number in a partial state.
What happens to your fee
The fee covers preparing and submitting the order, which has already happened by the time a transfer is cancellable. If you cancelled because something went wrong on our side, contact support and we will sort it out.
When you cannot cancel
Once a transfer reaches Completed, Cancelled or Failed, the cancel option disappears — those are final. In particular, a completed transfer cannot be reversed from the portal: the number is now on ReliaRing, and moving it back means starting a transfer with your previous provider.
The window worth watching is Foc Date Set. At that point your current provider has committed to a date. You can still cancel, but do it well before the date rather than the day of — a cancellation that arrives after the carrier has begun the cutover may not stop it.
Starting again after cancelling
A cancelled transfer cannot be reopened, but nothing stops you starting a fresh one for the same numbers. Select + Transfer a Number and go through the wizard again. If the first attempt was cancelled because of a detail your current provider rejected, read Fixing a Transfer That Needs Changes before you resubmit.
