Welcome to ReliaRing! This guide gets your cloud phone system working so you can start making and receiving business calls.
What you'll accomplish
By the end, you'll have:
- Signed in to your ReliaRing portal
- Added your first phone number
- Made a test call from the web softphone
- Recorded a voicemail greeting
Before you start
- A ReliaRing account (sign up at reliaring.com if you don't have one)
- A computer with a current web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge)
- A microphone and speakers, or a headset
Step 1: Sign in (2 minutes)
- Go to reliaring.com and click Log In.
- Enter your email and password.
- If two-step verification is turned on, enter the code when prompted.
- You'll land on Home — your dashboard.
Tip: Bookmark the portal so it's one click away next time.
Step 2: Add your first phone number (3 minutes)
- In the left sidebar, open Phone Numbers and click Buy Numbers.
- Choose your Country and number Type (local or toll-free).
- Enter a preferred area code and click search.
- Pick a number you like and follow the prompts to purchase it.
Your new number activates right away. Already have a number elsewhere? Use Phone Numbers → Porting to transfer it in instead — see Transferring a number in.
Step 3: Make a test call (5 minutes)
- Click the softphone button in the top bar (the phone icon) to open the dialer.
- When your browser asks, allow microphone access.
- Dial your own mobile number and press the green call button.
- Answer on your phone — if you can hear each other clearly, you're set.
If audio doesn't work, see the troubleshooting tips at the end.
Step 4: Set up voicemail (5 minutes)
- Open Settings and choose the Voicemail tab.
- Set a voicemail PIN, then record or upload your greeting.
- Save your changes.
You can also record a greeting from any phone: dial *98 from your extension and follow the prompts.
What's next?
- Invite your team
- Set your business hours
- Work through the essential settings checklist
- Register your E911 address
Important: Register a 911 (E911) address for each number under Emergency Dialing before you rely on ReliaRing for calls. It's required for emergency calling to work.
Quick audio troubleshooting
- No sound? Check your browser's microphone permission for the site.
- One-way audio? Refresh the page, and try turning off a VPN if you use one.
- Echo? Use a headset or lower your speaker volume.
