Business hours tell ReliaRing when you're open, so calls can be handled one way during the day and another way after hours.
Why set business hours?
- Send after-hours calls straight to voicemail
- Play a different greeting when you're closed
- Route calls to an on-call phone outside normal hours
- Handle holidays automatically
Set your hours
- In the sidebar, open Organization and choose Business Hours.
- For each day of the week, mark it open or closed and set the start and end times.
- Make sure your time zone is correct so the schedule applies at the right moment.
- Save your changes.
Example schedule
| Day | Hours |
|---|---|
| Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM |
| Saturday–Sunday | Closed |
After-hours handling
Decide what happens to calls that arrive when you're closed. Common choices include sending callers to voicemail with an after-hours greeting, playing an informational message, or forwarding to another number such as an answering service.
Sample after-hours greeting:
"Thank you for calling [Company]. Our office is currently closed. Our hours are Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. Please leave a message and we'll return your call on the next business day."
Night service by location
If your business has more than one location, you can flip a location into "night service" so its calls follow your after-hours plan. Manage locations under Organization → Business Locations, and use the Night Service quick toggles on your Home dashboard to switch a location on or off at any time.
Holidays
Add holiday dates so calls are handled the closed-day way even on a weekday you'd normally be open. Common ones to add include New Year's Day, Canada Day or Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
