If the ReliaRing mobile app is crashing, freezing, or misbehaving, these steps clear up the vast majority of problems. Work through them in order.
Start with the basics
- Force-close and reopen the app.
- Restart your phone.
- Update the app to the latest version from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android).
- Check your internet - try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
- Free up storage if your phone is nearly full.
Most crashes disappear after an update and a restart.
The app crashes when it opens
- Update the app first - an out-of-date app on a newer phone is a common cause.
- On Android, you can clear the app's cache: open your phone's Settings, find the ReliaRing app, open its storage options, and choose to clear the cache (this does not delete your account).
- If it still crashes, uninstall the app, restart your phone, reinstall from the store, and sign in again.
Calls won't work in the app
The app needs permission to use your microphone and to run in the background.
- On iPhone: open Settings, find ReliaRing, and allow Microphone, Notifications, and Background App Refresh.
- On Android: open Settings, find the ReliaRing app, and allow the Microphone and Phone permissions. Then check the app's battery setting and set it so the system does not restrict it - aggressive battery saving can shut the app down in the background and stop calls from coming through.
If audio only works one way, see our One-Way Audio guide.
No notifications for calls or messages
- Make sure notifications are allowed for ReliaRing in your phone's system settings.
- Confirm your phone is not in Do Not Disturb or a focus mode that mutes the app.
- Check the notification settings inside the ReliaRing app.
