Login and Sign-In Problems

Updated March 15, 20264 views0 found helpful

Resolve sign-in trouble: forgotten passwords, two-factor codes, single sign-on, and "invalid email or password" errors.

Can't sign in? Most login trouble falls into one of a few buckets. Find yours below.

"Invalid email or password"

This message means the email and password combination did not match.

  • Check for typos and extra spaces in your email.
  • Watch out for Caps Lock and your keyboard language.
  • If you use a password manager, let it fill the password rather than typing it.

If you have tried several times without luck, reset your password rather than guessing again (see below). Repeated failed attempts can temporarily slow down further sign-in attempts, so give it a short break if needed.

Reset a forgotten password

  1. On the sign-in page, click Forgot password?
  2. Enter your email address and choose Send Reset Link.
  3. You will see a confirmation that reads, in effect, "If an account exists for that email, you will receive a password reset link shortly." For your security we show this whether or not the email is registered.
  4. Open the email and follow the link to set a new password.

Your new password must be at least 8 characters and include an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, and a number.

Didn't get the email? Check your spam folder, confirm you used the right address, and wait a couple of minutes before trying again.

Two-factor (2FA) codes

If your account uses two-factor authentication, you will be asked for a 6-digit code after your password.

  • Code rejected? Authenticator codes are time-based. Make sure your phone's clock is set to update automatically, then enter a fresh code right after it changes.
  • Lost access to your authenticator? On the code screen, choose to use a backup code and enter one of the recovery codes you saved when you set up 2FA.
  • No backup codes either? Contact support so we can verify your identity and help you regain access.

Single sign-on (SSO)

If your company uses single sign-on, you may not have a separate ReliaRing password at all.

  • Enter your work email and choose Continue with single sign-on (or Sign in with Microsoft, if your company uses that). You will be handed off to your company's sign-in page.
  • If you see "No single sign-on is set up for that email domain - enter your password to continue", then your company has not enabled SSO for that email, and you should sign in with your email and password instead.
  • Seeing "Access denied" after your company login usually means your IT administrator has not granted you access yet. Reach out to them.

Administrators configure single sign-on under Account → SSO / SCIM.

My account seems inactive

If your credentials are correct but you still cannot get in, your account may be deactivated, not yet activated, or on a billing hold. Check for a welcome or activation email, and ask your account administrator whether your user is active. If the whole account is suspended for billing, an administrator will need to resolve the balance under Billing.

Still stuck? Contact support with the email address you are trying to use and the exact message you see.
