Getting Started with ReliaForward

Updated July 22, 20263 views0 found helpful

Set up ReliaForward to ring your existing phones from a professional number. No hardware, one plan per number.

ReliaForward gives you a phone number that rings wherever you want — your mobile, a landline, or a desk phone — without any new hardware. It is the simplest way to put a professional number in front of your business and send every call to a phone you already carry.

How ReliaForward works

  • You get one or more forwarding numbers (a new number, or transfer one you already own).
  • Each number has its own plan and its own settings — a strict "one number, one plan" model.
  • Calls to that number ring at the destination you choose. You decide where calls go; we handle the rest.
  • Usage is measured per number, so you always know which number is using minutes.

Choose a plan

Every forwarding number runs on one of three plans:

  • Starter — everyday forwarding: send all calls to one place, business-hours routing, voicemail-to-email, and text-to-email.
  • Professional — adds conditional rules (forward on busy, no answer, or unavailable), simultaneous ring, call screening, and toll-free numbers.
  • Business — everything in Professional, plus voicemail transcription, two-way text relay, and priority support.

Higher tiers also include more monthly minutes. You will see current pricing and minute allowances on the plan cards when you add a number, and on our pricing page.

Add your first number

  1. Go to Call Forwarding → Add Number (or click Get Started on the ReliaForward dashboard).
  2. Pick a plan.
  3. Choose your number:
    • New number — search and pick a fresh local or toll-free number.
    • Transfer your number — bring a number you already use. This starts a transfer (see "Switching to ReliaForward from Another Provider").
    • Existing number — use a number already on your account.
  4. Set where calls should forward.
  5. Complete secure checkout. You are billed a prorated amount for the rest of the current cycle.

Adding another number later? Repeat the same steps — each new number is its own subscription with its own plan.

Point calls where you want them

Open a number from Call Forwarding → Numbers and use the Forwarding tab to set your Primary Forwarding Destination. Save, then call your ReliaForward number to hear it ring through. From the same screen you can add a fallback number, voicemail, business hours, and more — the related articles cover each.

International forwarding

Want to forward to a number outside the US and Canada? Turn on the International Forwarding add-on in Settings → Subscription. International minutes are billed by destination — check current rates under Call Forwarding → Usage & Rates.

Keep an eye on usage

  • Call Forwarding → History shows every forwarded call.
  • Call Forwarding → Usage & Rates tracks minutes and costs, and lists international rates.
  • Your prepaid Wallet (in Settings → Billing) covers minutes beyond your monthly allowance. Turn on auto-refill so forwarding never stops mid-month.
